Distracted Driving is Dangerous
March 20, 2012 | in Driver Safety For You & Your FamilyWhile traveling on a major freeway last week, I glanced at a neighboring motorist and noticed that the drivers’ head was completely down. The driver was not looking at the road at all. I counted how many seconds her head had been down as we passed her. Four full seconds!
What the driver committed was distracted driving. While her actions were completely dangerous, we know that most drivers participate in some form of distracted driving. Distracted driving comes in the form of changing the radio station, answering a phone call, or talking to passengers amongst other things. These are simple actions that are constantly taking place on our highways.
