How Often Can You Take Defensive Driving?
May 29, 2018 | in Defensive Driving TipsHow often you’re able to take a defensive driving course varies by state. For example, in the state of Texas you’re able to take a defensive driving course as long as you:
-Haven’t taken a defensive driving class within the previous 12 months
-Do not have a CDL
-Are not currently taking defensive driving for another infraction
In Texas there are additional requirements, such as not being cited for over 25 MPH over or infractions occurring in a school zone, but most normal speeding violations are able to be easily dismissed with a certified course such as our own once every 12 months.
Other states have different requirements to both how frequently you can take the courses, with some states even putting limits on the maximum amount of times you’re able to take a course in order to dismiss tickets or get point reductions from traffic violations. To find out more about your state’s requirements check with the DMV or DPS website for your state.
