If you didn’t know before watching this video, you would probably assume that you were watching a drunk driver.

We see a Florida car swerving and weaving, straying onto the wrong side of the road, and eventually getting so out of control that it goes speeding off the road and straight into a tree. It was fortunate that there were no other cars around, being the middle of the night, or the accident could have been much more severe. However, it might surprise you to discover that, in this situation, drinking was not the cause of the crash – it was texting.

Many of us don’t realize the dangers that we put ourselves in when we text while driving. You might think that you can still drive with a phone in your hand, but the reality is quite different. Texting while driving puts the lives of both yourself and those around you at risk. If only this driver had known, he might have saved his car. But if people can learn from this example, they might be able to save more than that – they could save a life.
