Could it Become Illegal for Humans to Drive Cars?
March 19, 2015 | in Cool Driving, Defensive Driving Online
The impending rise of self-driving cars could mean that driving your own car will become illegal. At least, that is according to Elon Musk, CEO and co-founder of Tesla Motors.
Because of the efficiency and added safety of a car driving itself, Musk is predicting that once autonomous vehicles are the norm, it will no longer be legal for people to drive their own cars.
Is this a realistic view of the future that awaits us?
While it is increasingly possible that driverless cars will one day take over as the most common form of transport, Musk’s prediction does not take into account the love of driving that many people share. Self-driving cars will probably emerge as a viable form of transportation in the next few years, but it is almost impossible to imagine a world without any driving or drivers.
Musk has clarified on Twitter that he hopes driving does not become outlawed, and car lovers across the globe will no doubt agree.
