Can I Take Defensive Driving Twice?
April 20, 2021 | in Defensive Driving TipsIn Texas, you can take a defensive driving course as many times as needed. The normal requirements to be eligible for defensive driving are:
-Haven’t taken a defensive driving class within the previous 12 months
-Do not have a CDL
-Are not currently taking defensive driving for another infraction
-Were not going more than 25 MPH over the posted speed limit
-Were not in a school zone at the time of the alleged infraction
What if you took defensive driving 6 months ago though? Or what if you were doing 30 MPH over the posted limit?
You may still be eligible for defensive driving, but you’ll need to talk to an attorney.
If you took defensive driving over 12 months ago though, you’re all set to be eligible to take it again! Many of our students have dismissed multiple tickets with our course. Either they’ve received another ticket, or they’re simply re-taking it every 3 years for an auto insurance discount of up to 10% per month.
If you’re not sure if you’re eligible, reach out to our Customer Support team. Our Texas-based team is available by phone or email to assist you before, during and after your course.
