Driving can be a drag if you do it a lot, but one of the things that makes it more fun is that you get to listen to whatever you music you like as you cruise. Whether you have a daily commute, or you are just looking for some new road trip tunes, we’ve got you covered. Check out our recommendations, and for some full road trip playlists, head over to our Road Trip Planner.
New Music
There is a lot of good music out there this fall, and a lot of it seems custom made for listening to on the way to work or while driving around town. New artists like Alessia Cara are bringing fresh and interesting sounds, and writing duo Oh Wonder have released an appropriately titled track, “Drive.” Even Justin Bieber has made a comeback with his new earworm, “What Do You Mean?” Chvrches and Børns provide some electronic sounds, and no road trip playlist could be complete without a Foo Fighters song; “Outside” is their latest.
Alessia Cara – Here
Oh Wonder – Drive
Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?
Foo Fighters – Outside
Chvrches – Leave a Trace
Børns – Past Lives
Road Classics, Old and New
Sometimes, however, it’s the old road trip standbys that you need to do the trick. You could probably put in Eagles’ greatest hits and be done, but in the interest of diversity, we’ve just included “Take it Easy.” Newer songs include driving soundtracks “Hero” and “California,” which works even if you aren’t in the Golden State. Alongside these are some road trip classics, “I’ve Been Everywhere,” “Low Rider,” and of course, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Eagles – Take it Easy
Family of the Year – Hero
War – Low Rider
Johnny Cash – I’ve Been Everywhere
Phantom Planet – California
Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody
