Austin Prepares for a Surge in Electric Car Drivers

There are currently 3,000 electric vehicles in Austin and this number is expected to rise with more models, some cheaper, hitting the market in the coming years.
University of Texas engineer professor Kara Kockelman explains, “Austin is a special case. Austin is helping to lead the nation in a lot of electricity decisions, and building decisions and design decisions and impervious cover decisions. We lead the way in many ways in these environmental issues.”
More importantly, electric cars can help reduce carbon emissions within the atmosphere.
