10 Best Songs About Cars and Driving

It’s perhaps the reason why so many musicians take inspiration from cars and driving, and why those are often some of the biggest hits. In tribute to that, here are some of the most famous songs about cars and driving. Artist: Wilson Pickett
Originally recorded by Mack Rice, the 1966 cover by Wilson Pickett is arguably the definitive version of the song.

Artist: Tracy Chapman
No song exudes the ‘80s more than this song from Tracy Chapman. Full of nostalgia and wishful thinking, this song is perfect for a late night drive.

As with many of these songs, this one is less about driving, and more a metaphor for life. Many kids now recognize it for the Rascal Flatts cover from Pixar’s Cars.

No driving playlist is complete without ultimate road trip band, the Eagles. Take it Easy is their most literal driving song, though.
